Louanna Col\u00f3n is a soprano vocalist who is passionate about creating ethereal experiences on the stage, inspired by her recollection of the first time she heard Mimi\u2019s first aria from\u00a0La Boheme\u00a0<\/em>in her car, overwhelmed by the emotion and intensity amongst musical lines. To recreate that ethereal moment for her audiences is the deepest motivation behind her musical approach. Louanna Col\u00f3n seeks to build this musical approach and connection to her audience through opera roles, concert gigs, chamber and solo recitals. She has performed the roles of Erste Dame with Lyric Opera Studio in Weimar, Germany; Destino in La Calisto<\/em> with the Peabody Opera Department, and Musetta with Chicago Summer Opera. She has received invaluable coaching and perspective from her experience performing in the opera choruses for\u00a0Don Giovanni<\/em>,\u00a0Die Zauberflote,<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0The Rake\u2019s Progress.\u00a0<\/em>She also performed in chamber ensembles for Monteverdi\u2019s\u00a0Poppea<\/em>\u00a0and Vaughan Williams\u00a0Riders to the Sea<\/em>. And, she has performed and worked on the roles of Florencia, Susanna, Giuletta, and Sister Rose in opera scene programs.\u00a0<\/p>\n Louanna Col\u00f3n also has a passion for education and teaching that continues to blossom.\u00a0 She uses her background in voice and instrumental performance in her work as an instructor, having studied the violin and piano for many years. She has worked with various music studios throughout the DMV and currently runs her own private studio. She also currently works for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Education Department.<\/p>\n Louanna Col\u00f3n graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree with a concentration in classical vocal performance from James Madison University summa cum laude.
